Well how long has it been? Seems like forever. Possibly a month? Well lots of things have went down since the last time that I blogged. I wont bore you with the details but I have had ups and downs. Mostly ups, but a whole lot of downs. Jeff and I both took pay cuts. Him at his main f/t job and me at my p/t job. It always seems like when we are on our way climbing out of the deepest hole, someone comes up to us and steps on our fingers sending us falling down to the bottom again. (wow...nice analogy. Sometimes I amaze myself). This just happens to be one hurdle that we will overcome yet again.
Rilyn started his new daycare and he loves it. He likes the fact that his teacher knows how to play the guitar and brings it to school on Fridays to play songs for the class. He has adjusted really well to the new surroundings. And guess what... HE IS POTTY TRAINED!!! Well not completely, but for the most part. He can tell us that he has to go poo, which is code for pee. I am loving it. It is so great not to have to change diapers every two seconds. Although I didnt realize one thing until I went to dinner with my mother-in-law last week.....When they are potty trained or in the process of learning, you need to make sure you know immediately when you arrive where the bathrooms are. When kids have to go, they have to go and fast. I picked up Rilyn and raced across Ruby Tuesday to the very back to get him to the potty before he went.
I know that this post is sort of sporadic and vague but at least its a post right? I will leave you with a quote that my friend Katina emailed me when I was feeling a little down today:
'To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did' When God takes something from your grasp, He's not punishing you, but merely opening your hands to receive something better."
Sometimes you got to have the lemons before you actually get the lemonade. Things will get better. Things havent been awful and I thank God everyday that we have a roof over our heads, a bed to sleep in, a job to go to and a family to love. Those are the most important things to me right now, the rest are all just details.
:) Amen sister, God is faithful to us. Love the blogs!
ReplyDeleteI understand about getting ahead and then falling... It sucks! But YAY for potty training! That's definitely an UP moment! :-)
