JANUARY: My Little Polliwog...

In January, my mom decided to sign Rilyn up for swim lessons at the YMCA. We thought this was a great way for him to get some water knowledge and maybe learn a few things too. He really likes being in the pool. He doesnt like waiting to get into the pool, showering before getting in the pool or soggy swim trunks. The way he walks when he is done with lessons cracks me up. He reminds me of an old man the way he is hunched over and walking SO slow.

Ri was lucky to have his first session of classes be with his cousin Malachi. They were both in the beginners class also known as the Polliwog class. They loved being in class together and learning the same things. I can honestly say that I may be a little less crazy-pyscho mom and a bit more relaxed-but still hovering mom when we go to Fun Plex over the summer. The boy is barely able to doggie paddle but always insists on going in the giant wave pool and down the humongous water slides. Now that he is in swim class, I at least feel confident that he will hold his breath if he goes under water.

Check out a few snapshots of Ri getting his polliwog on:

Finally made it to the edge of the pool
Getting encouragement before diving in
Pretty sure he said "I'm so cold!"
Finally done with class
Headed to the sauna to warm up
