We are buying a HOUSE!! We are beyond excited. We still cant believe that it is happening. All kinds of craziness. We went from saying that we wanted to wait another year to well lets just apply to see what our credit looks like to holy crap we can afford that to OMG we are getting a freaking house! I cant believe it but its happening. It all seems so surreal. Its not a huge house but we are happy with it. It has more bedrooms and more space than our apartment does. It also has a basement which means no more storm shelters for us in Tornado Alley. Also can I just say "YAY!" for not having to scrap my car for 40 minutes before work in the cold, freezing winter once we finally move in. Its a starter home. Something that we can grow into and then when we are ready, we will get something that is more long term. Who knows...we could be in this house for a really long time. We don't know whats in store for us but we do know that we are very happy right now.
So with that being sad, I am happy to say that we are going to be closing on our house in October. We are building with
Hearthstone, and have been really pleased with the process. I plan on posting updates of what our house looks like every so often. Here is our model sketch:

I drive by there everyday to check on the process. My camera now lives in my purse just for thisoccasion. We will be living literally 3 minutes away from where I work, which is nice. Jeff will stillhave a commute to his job, but it will be 5 minutes or less to the interstate instead of the 10 it takes him now. I cant wait to save on gas (and miles since we are both leasing). The only sad thing that I can think of is that we are going to have to put Rilyn in yet another daycare. We love the one that he goes to now, but it would be too far out of the way for him to stay there once we move. I think that wherever he goes, he will be fine. Plus he is excited to move. He keeps saying that we are building a house for him and his grandma to live in. I don't know where he got that from but that's his slogan when it comes to the house. I am happy that he is going to have a YARD to play in. Our lot also backs up to the community park which is nice. That means that we don't have to buy a swing set unless we absolutely want to have one in our fenced in yard. I cant wait.
And with that being said....so long until next time.
That's awesome!!!! Congrats!!!!! Can't wait to see progress...
