Ri may or may not decide to be a super cute male model someday. If he is, it will be all thanks to his first shot at runway stardom. I was asked to have him participate in a back-to-school fashion show at Village Pointe. He was going to be wearing some preppy gear from my part-time (well not really seeing as I never work anymore since becoming hugely pregnant) job Janie & Jack. I thought that it would be really cute to see him work the runway so I agreed.
Janie & Jack has the cutest outfits. Ri has a little bit more "edge" to him so the garments don't always go with his everyday style, but I definitely find cute rugby shirts, baseball tees and jeans for him to wear. It is also my usual go-to spot for special occasion outfits...plus the discount as an employee isn't half bad.
I mentioned the fashion show to Jeff and Ri and had mixed reviews. Jeffs face was priceless as in "OUR kid?", Ri was like "whats a fashion show?" I still thought it was a great idea. I explained to Ri that he would dress up and walk down a lighted "sidewalk" on a stage and pose at the end. When he heard pose, he decided his pose would be the "Uncle John". He was excited about the idea.
Little did I know that my ham of a son would have his first bout of stage fright. I don't blame him though. There were a LOT of people that showed for the last outdoor concert/fashion show at the mall. We got Ri all decked out in his prep attire off we went. Ri was SO CUTE! The show was the same day he got his mohawk so he reminded me of a bad boy private school kid...You know like the kid from GLEE but with a uniform.
Ri got on stage with his little walking partner....and froze. I had to call his name to walk to the end of the stage. When he got to the end of the stage, the "Uncle John" pose was out. He decided to do a "ta-da" pose, both arms open with a "Is this what I do" look on his face. Still cute, still lots of cheers.
Maybe next time he will be a little more hype and not so nervous. I mean, just check out the pictures of my kiddo below. The boy is pure perfection and could make it far in the entertainment business with his looks and personality. Although, I don't want to be a stage mom, I feel like those women are CRAZY.
